Melanie Martin

Board Member (RN)

Growing up on a family farm as one of five children, Melanie learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and community from an early age. With a mother who was a nurse, she was inspired to follow in her footsteps and pursue a career devoted to caring for others. After convocating in 2006, Melanie began her nursing career at the Regina General Hospital, working in the Emergency Department as well as in General Surgery and Burns. She developed a strong interest in trauma care, drawn to the fast-paced, high-acuity environment and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in moments of crisis.
In 2021, seeking a new balance and a different way to serve, Melanie transitioned to HealthLine, where she continues to provide compassionate care and professional guidance to the people of Saskatchewan. The change of pace has been a welcome opportunity to reflect, grow, and continue serving others in a new capacity.Outside of work, Melanie is a proud mother of boys and a hockey mom, spending much of the year in the rink supporting her family. Faith, family, and friendship form the foundation of her life and values. She describes her faith as her cornerstone, guiding every decision and interaction both personally and professionally.
In her spare time, Melanie enjoys camping with her family, Friday movie and pizza nights, and playing piano and singing — moments that help her stay grounded and connected to what matters most. Deeply passionate about nursing, Melanie considers it a blessing to serve others through her profession. Having spent many years on the front lines, she recognizes the vital importance of advocating for nurses across all areas of practice and remains committed to advancing the profession and supporting her colleagues in every way she can.
